Day 4, 21 Dec 2008: Nundroo to Port Augusta

Map: Nundroo (marked "A") to Port Augusta

Early morning at Nundroo.  This dog slept in the car, while it's owners occupied the motel room.

If we had tried that with Flemington, nobody in the motel would have had a wink of sleep that night!

Another overcast and a very windy day to travel through.

Civilization at last - the pretty seaside town of Ceduna, where we stopped for breakfast.

Supermarket!!!

Mobile coverage again!!!

Breakfast at a beachside park.

Now we travel through the South Australian wheatbelt.

Fuel stop.

Small town Christmas decorations.

Today's strong winds blew vast amounts of topsoil off the wheat fields.

The haze in the picture below was part of the soil blowing in the crosswind.

Town of Kimba, and the Giant Galah!

We climbed this watchtower at Port Augusta for the views over Spencer Gulf.

Being a Sunday, there was no one in the office at our overnight stop.

Notes advised patrons which cabins to go to and keys were in the door.

Our cabin was nice bright and cheerful, winning my Best Accomodation Award for the trip so far.
